Roehampton mum is invited once again to meet at 10 Downing St
Yesterday, Polly Tommey met with the Prime Minister’s wife Sarah Brown and other figureheads from the world of autism.
Phil Hope, Health Minister, spoke to guests about the ways the government can help autism charities to reach their goals whilst Angela Smith, Minister for the Third Sector, emphasized the changing power of charities.
Polly welcomes Sarah’s involvement in the autism community, not only because she has experience in charitable work but also because she recognises the important role that third sector involvement can play.
Sarah and Polly took part in discussions concerning how to include more of the voluntary sector community, how to raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding autism.

Radio Jackie's dispute with Kingston Council continues . . . . .
The Council has told Radio Jackie it was able to take the A Board away as it was breaching new rules and the fact it was balanced against the company wall has no significance.
The full story . . . .
Radio Jackie’s considering taking legal action against the Royal Borough of Kingston Council.
Officials and police moved in this morning to remove the company’s A board which they claim is an obstruction to pedestrians and breaching new laws.
The team used bolt cutters to confiscate it after it had been chained to a wall.
Many traders say the boards are a long standing and legitimate way of advertising and if placed against a building don’t cause a problem.
But…Radio Jackie’s famous pirate is safe – the Council says despite it being much larger it doesn’t breach any rules as it’s considered street art.

Third runway could be inevitable
A loophole may allow ministers to push through a third runway at Heathrow without a public consultation.
Official figures show the Government will not wait for a new planning commission to be introduced next March.
Members have to wait for the Government’s airports strategy to be released before making a decision about a third runway..
But it's thought ministers will wait to draw up the plans causing a delay meaning the Government’s Communities Secretary gets to make the final decision.
