CCTV released after bar attack in Staines

Police in Spelthorne are appealing for witnesses after a 21-year-old man was seriously assaulted during a night out in Staines town centre over the weekend.

The incident took place at Baroosh in Staines High Street at around 1.45am on Saturday 23 October.

The victim, who is from Sunbury, was on a night out with a group of friends when he became involved a verbal altercation with the suspect.

After arguing for several minutes the suspect hit the victim in the face with a pint glass before being escorted from the premises by security staff.

Once outside the suspect ran from the scene towards the Two Rivers retail park.

The victim sustained deep lacerations to his nose, upper lip and left cheek and was taken by ambulance to St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey before being transferred to the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford.

The suspect is described as being a white man, around 5ft 10ins tall, in his late thirties, medium build, balding with short dark hair and was wearing a green jacket, blue jeans and white trainers.
