Duo take on mammoth cycle for Surbiton's Landirani Trust

Sam Palmer and Rob Tuck left Surbiton on Sunday 5th September to cycle to Morocco.
They arrived after 21 days of cycling 2,121km and decided to climb the highest peak in North Africa (4,167m) as well.
Sam said “ Cycling is by far the best method of traveling I have ever used, and you really get a sense of how large this world is when you attempt to cycle through only a very small proportion of it.”
Sam and Rob are raising money for bicycle ambulances in Malawi, Africa for local charity, The Landirani Trust. The issue of transport to hospital is particularly bad in The Landirani Trust area of support as there are only two hospitals in the 200km².
1 in 6 women die in childbirth in Malawi, predominantly due to the fact they cannot get to the hospital in time for a safe delivery.
Many more people die or suffer unnecessarily because they cannot get to a hospital or health centre in time.
Thetypical mode of transport to a hospital is by Ox and cart which is a slow and expensive way to travel.
