CCTV images released in Hampton Court attack

Police release CCTV images following a serious assault outside Hampton Court railway station

Detectives in Elmbridge have released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to following a serious assault outside Hampton Court railway station.

The attack took place between 1.30am and 2am on Sunday, 12 December.

The victim, a 49-year-old man from Sunbury-on-Thames, had been in a taxi with three friends who were dropped off in Park Road, Teddington. Three unknown young men then asked to share the taxi and got in.

Once the cab arrived at the station concourse there was a dispute over the fare during which a bottle was smashed over the victim’s head.

He was taken to Kingston Hospital where he was treated for serious facial injuries and has since been released.

The three men are described as being aged between 16 and 20 and were all of slim build. Two were white while the other was of mixed race.

Police have now released CCTV stills of two men seen in the area a short time after the incident.

Officers believe these men may be able to provide vital information to assist this ongoing investigation.

Anyone who recognises the men shown in the CCTV images or with any information on the assault should call Surrey Police on 0845 125 2222, quoting reference EL/10/9902, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Call 0845 125 2222 for all non-emergency policing matters.
Call 999 if you have a genuine emergency requiring the attendance of the police (eg a crime is in progress or someone is in immediate danger).
Call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you have information about crime and don't want to leave your name.
