Map on website to help customers identify the planned extent of services in their area

South West Trains is advising passengers that a revised train service is planned for Friday 3 December as a result of continuing disruption caused by severe weather.

A set of revised timetables have been prepared to make best use of the trains and crew expected to be available and to try to deliver the most robust level of service for passengers tomorrow.

Passengers can also access a colour-coded map on the website to identify whether services are planned to run from their local station.

South West Trains is advising passengers to check for up-to-date travel information and leave additional time for their journeys as journey times may be extended. Information will continue to be provided and updated on the South West Trains website ( and National Rail Enquiries website ( or customers can call the snow hotline on 0845 301 7641. Passengers are also advised to review customer information screens at stations or speak to a member of station staff.

Andy Pitt, Managing Director of South West Trains, said: "Severe weather is continuing to cause disruption to road, rail and air transport in many parts of the country, including train services on our network. We understand the impact this is having on our customers, and would like to thank them for their patience during these difficult conditions. We are doing all we can in partnership with Network Rail to keep passengers updated and our trains moving.

"We expect the poor weather to continue for several days and we have decided to put in place a revised timetable. This is to ensure we make the best use of the resources we have available, and help give passengers more certainty on what services they can expect to operate. Our advice to passengers is to continue to check for updates before they travel and to allow longer for their journeys. Our staff are working incredibly hard in freezing conditions to keep our services running well as keeping our depots and stations clear and safe, and I would like to thank them for their efforts."
