Olympians Set To Honour Local Sports Heroes at Elmbridge Sports Personality of the Year Awards 2012
Olympians Andy Triggs Hodge, James Foad and Mo Sbihi from Molesey Boat Club, James Tindall and Matt Daley from Surbiton Hockey Club, Olympic and Paralympic Torch Bearers, Games Makers and guest presenter Michael Aspel will make a special appearance at this year’s Sports Personality of the Year Awards at ACS Cobham International School, Portsmouth Road on Friday.
An estimated 600 guests and sports personalities will be gathering to celebrate and reward the outstanding performances of local clubs and athletes as well as recognise Elmbridge’s extraordinary coaches and volunteers.
The ACS International School in Cobham has kindly offered to host the Awards this year. With a curriculum focusing strongly on sports participation and a comprehensive programme of seasonal, competitive sports offering its 1350 students the opportunity to take part in and achieve success in their chosen sports, the school is the ideal setting for such a prestigious event recognising local sports talent. It also has the best range of quality sports facilities of any international school in Europe.
Winners in over 14 categories including individuals, clubs, teams, volunteers and schools will be awarded for their skills, talent and dedication to sport at local level.
