WARNING graphic image: Cat shot in the eye in attack in Clapham

A cat has been shot with an air gun before staggering back to her owners in Kings Avenue in Clapham.
The incident happened at around 10pm on Thursday July the 2nd, and is suspected to have taken place in the vicinity of Loats Road and Kings Avenue.
Misha’s owner Alexandra Sa, who also has another cat, said: The cats come and go throughout the evening and have done for years with no problems. At about 10 in the evening on the Thursday Misha came home and at first I didn’t see anything wrong but then I saw her sitting on my bed and she was bleeding profusely.
I followed the blood trail and it was quite short, just near to the window so I think it had to have happened in the local area.
We called our vets who put us through to the emergency vets who medicated Misha and then transferred us to the Royal Veterinary College in Hatfield. She had to have her eye removed and the pellet was very close to her brain, at this point we didn’t know if she was going to be okay.
RSPCA inspector Esther Lincoln said: We want to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything which might help us find out what happened to Misha.
Under the Animal Welfare Act, if someone is caught deliberately using an air weapon to injure an animal, they could face a £20,000 fine and/or up to six months in prison.
Anyone with information about this attack can report it by calling the RSPCA inspectorate line on 0300 123 8018.
