Detectives are appealing for information following the robbery of a cash machine from a #Heathrow hotel foyer

Police were called to the Renaissance Hotel in Bath Road in the early hours of this morning.

Officers attended and found an ATM had been stolen from the lobby of a hotel after a Black BMW X5 containing a group of suspects rammed through the rear entrance door.

Security staff at the hotel tried to intervene, but were threatened by the suspects who intimated they had firearms. No firearms were seen.

The suspects then stole the cash machine and made off from the scene. Shortly afterwards this BMW X5 was seen and followed by a marked police vehicle.

Another suspect vehicle, a blue Audi RS6, then rammed that marked police vehicle in Hatch Lane, causing the police vehicle to stop.

Two officers sustained minor injuries in this collision. They did not require hospital treatment.

Another marked police vehicle in the vicinity witnessed this collision and attempted to stop the BMW X5, which was carrying the ATM.

Both vehicles collided and the BMW X5 ended up in a ditch.

An occupant from the BMW abandoned the vehicle and made off in the Audi.

The ATM was recovered by police from the BMW. Enquiries continue to establish whether any cash had been taken.

The Air Support Unit then assisted police in tracking this suspect vehicle - the Audi - to Ashford.

Further Met officers in a marked police vehicle located the Audi RS6 in Albain Crescent. This car rammed the police vehicle.

The occupants then decamped from the vehicle and made off from the scene on foot.

Two other officers sustained minor injuries from the other two vehicle collisions. They did not require any hospital treatment.

Two men were detained nearby by officers and arrested on suspicion of robbery.

A 26-year-old man and another man were arrested. They were taken to hospital suffering minor injuries, and have been discharged.

They have been taken to west London police stations where they remain in custody.

The Met's Flying Squad are investigating.
