Victorian Bayonet & WW1 Medals Stolen During House Robbery in Epsom
A Victorian bayonet and World War I medals were amongst a huge haul stolen following a robbery in Epsom last Wednesday.
Two men pushed their way into the victim’s home at around 6pm, before threatening him with weapons that were found in the property.
The victim suffered minor injuries following a struggle with the two robbers, one of whom may also be injured.
The suspects are described as white, aged about 35-37, around 5ft 7 and of a skinny build.
The pair made off with thousands of pounds worth of items:
• A Victorian bayonet with no handle;
• A World War II bayonet with a wooden handle;
• A World War I American bayonet with a wooden handle;
• A BSA air rifle;
• An SMK air rifle with a telescope on top;
• A large amount of cash in notes;
• 2 gold chains;
• 2 gold sovereigns;
• 1 Arabic sovereign;
• 2 gold rings, one with letters ‘BL’ and the other with raised bobbles;
• 2 half sovereign coins
• A Belgium 7 mm antic pistol
• An officer’s revolver with a broken spring,
• A small green safe which was inside the larger safe, containing coins and World War 1 medals.
It is believed the suspects made off in a silver hatchback vehicle which was waiting outside, driven by a third man.
