Missing student's belongings thought to have been found in Chessington

Surrey Police is appealing for information about a man who has been reported missing after visiting a friend’s house in Esher on Sunday.

21 year old Viktor Ivanelo, left the address in Esher around 2am and has not been seen since.

Officers are growing increasingly concerned for his safety after a number of his belongings were found at the side of a horse track in Chessington around 11.40am on Sunday.

Viktor is a student at the University of Surrey. He has lodgings in Guildford.

Viktor was wearing a grey formal jacket, blue jeans and smart shoes. He was carrying a black over the shoulder bag which may have had a laptop inside. He was not wearing his glasses when he left the address in Esher.

Detective Inspector Jim Strugnell, who is overseeing the investigation, said: “Viktor has not made contact with anyone since leaving the address in Esher on Sunday and we are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

We would like him to make contact with us as soon as possible so that we can confirm that he is safe and well.

We are also appealing to anyone with any information as to his whereabouts to come forward as a matter of urgency. We are carrying out a number of enquiries, including searches of the area where his belongings were found, but any other information or sightings would help us enormously.”

If you can help, please contact Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference number 45170020251.
