Parents of Charlie Gard "have not given up the fight"


The family of terminally ill baby Charlie Gard say the "fight is not over" ahead of a fresh court battle on Monday over his treatment.

In a series of tweets they thanked supporters for sharing the story of their 11-month-old son worldwide.

Connie Yates and Chris Gard, from Bedfont, will help deliver a petition with more than 350-thousand signatures to Great Ormond Street Hospital on Sunday.

Car fire leads to traffic jams in Tolworth

Large amounts of traffic in the Tolworth area are due to a car fire earlier this evening.

Police have not released much information as an investigation is underway, but a spokesman has said they are not treating it as suspicious at this time.

There is a large police presence at the scene but that is for safety reasons due to the location of the incident.

Drivers are advised to find alternative routes.

The Korean ambassador to the UK has paid a visit to Kingston.

Joonkook Hwang came to support the launch of a new exhibition of prints and artwork by Korean artists.

The event at Kingston Museum celebrates the Korean community within the borough.

New Malden has the largest Korean population outside of Korea itself.

A woman has been jailed for nine years

A woman has been jailed for nine years after bragging to friends on WhatsAPP about glassing a woman in the face.

31 year old Annalaise Morris scarred a woman for life after attacking her in a Kingston pub in January.

The victim was left with a 9cm gash on her face so deep it severed nerves.

Analysis of WhatsApp conversations showed Morris has sent messages to her friends with a photograph posing with her injured hand.

Two police officers in Surrey have been nominated for a national Police Bravery Award

Two police officers in Surrey have been nominated for a national Police Bravery Award after saving a vulnerable hospital patient who jumped into the River Wey.

PCs Erin Bowditch and Rachel Upton were searching near the river for the patient when the control room alerted them the woman was nearby.

The patient was trying to hide from the police when she jumped into the river but despite the risks they jumped into save her.
She was safely taken back to Hospital to continue her treatment.

London's Biggest Pride Parade

Thousands of people gathered in Central London today to celebrate the annual Pride Parade 50 years since homosexuality was legalised in the UK.

London saw it’s biggest ever parade in the event’s 45 year history as more than 26,000 people marched as part of 300 different groups.

Crowds of about 1 million people gathered to watch.

Staff from the Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade led the parade after helping in response to recent events in the capital.

AFC Wimbledon National League Game Cancelled

Just four hours before kick-off, AFC Wimbledon announced their National League friendly with Eastleigh had been cancelled.

It was declared the pitch was "not suitable to play on" due to fresh turf being laid just this week.

AFC Wimbledon tweeted at 10.43am that the game, which was due to be the south Londoners' first friendly of pre-season, had been called-off following a 10am pitch inspection at the Hampshire club.

The cancelled match has been described as a 'diabolical liberty' by AFC Wimbledon director Ivor Heller.

However, the Hampshire club have insisted the pitch is both playable and safe in their own statement about the cancelled game.

New Film shot at Royal Holloway Premieres in London

A film shot completely on the campus of Royal Holloway University in Egham has its UK premiere later today in central London.

Delirium follows the story of an internationally famous composer as he tries to create a modern Requiem.

Many of the university staff and students participated in making the film as trainee crew and supporting cast.

Members of the university orchestra and Chapel Choir also performed.

The film which stars Gareth Jones, Clare Grogan and Timothy West was first shown at the Moscow International Film Festival last month.

Eco-friendly Cars Being Tested in Wimbledon

Residents are being invited to test drive electric cars in Wimbledon.

It’s part of an initiative by Merton Council to introduce more eco-friendly vehicles.

Next Saturday drivers will be able to get behind the wheel of an electric vehicle on Wimbledon high street.

A fully charged car can travel up to 150 miles in the city on renewable energy.

Defending champion Andy Murray's into the last-16 of Wimbledon after holding on to win a late thriller with Fabio Fognini.

Britain's world number one won 6-2 4-6 6-1 7-5 just before the lights needed to be switched on, on Centre Court.

Murray says Fognini provided a good test of his recent hip problem.

Pride parade will mark 50 years since homosexuality was decriminalised.

Thousands of people will join the Pride parade through central London later.

The annual event is in its 45th year and marks 50 years since homosexuality was decriminalised in England and Wales.

It will start off at Portland Place and will go through Oxford Street before ending in Whitehall.

A masseur from Hammersmith has been jailed for eight years



A masseur from Hammersmith has been jailed for eight years for two counts of sexual assault he committed against female clients.

34 Mohamed El Alfy was sentenced on Wednesday at Isleworth crown court.

The court heard how one victim a 45 year old woman lay on her front for a massage while Mr El Alfy sexually assaulted her at the Hilton Hotel in Brentford.

All the incidents were reported to police and Mr Alfy was arrested and charged.

Police continue to investigate a Murder in Mitcham.

Investigations are continuing following a murder in Mitcham on Thursday night.

Police were called to a house in Edgehill Road just before 11 o’clock.

They found a 63 year old woman suffering head injuries.

A 20 year old man was arrested at the scene.

Kingston tackles fatbergs

Kingston’s sewers are under threat from ‘fatbergs’, according to Thames Water.

Their engineers have to clear a major blockage in the area every week.

The fatbergs form from leftover cooking fat that is tipped down the drain and then congeals in the pipes.

Twelve properties in Kingston have been flooded with sewage in the past 3 years because of fat and wet wipe blockages.

The wipes are also a problem as they don’t break down.

Kingston is running a campaign to tell people to ‘bin it and don’t block it’ and will be sending residents a postcard explaining what can be disposed of down the drain.

Police appeal for dashcam footage of serious accident on M25 near Addlestone

Officers are appealing for dashcam footage of an accident on the M25 earlier that left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

They were taken to St George’s hospital after colliding with a car on the anti-clockwise stretch between junctions 12 for Thorpe Park and 11 for Addlestone at around 5.30 this evening.

All lanes are now open. Police would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or caught it on camera.

They can be contacted on 101.

UPDATE: End of play results at Wimbledon on Friday

Defending champion Andy Murray's joined fellow Briton Johanna Konta in the last 16 of Wimbledon.

He looked to be going to five sets against Fabio Fognini on Centre Court, but won five straight games to take the fourth, 7-5.

British number one Johanna Konta had no such trouble, emphatically beating Maria Sakkari on Number One Court.

Up next for her is Caroline Garcia - Murray faces a French opponent too, in Benoit Paire.

Heather Watson played superbly but won't be in round four, beaten by former world number one Victoria Azarenka.

Aljaz Bedene lost in straight sets to Gilles Muller.

Murray faces Frenchman Benoit Paire in the fourth round on Monday.

Police ask for help tracing wanted man over assault in Croydon


Police are appealing for assistance to trace a man who is wanted in connection with an assault in Croydon.

36-year old Shaneil Phillips is black, approximately 6ft 2ins, of medium build and has a Jamaican accent.

The assault was in Kingsley Road at around 8pm on Wednesday, when a woman in her 30s suffered a slash wound to her face.

If anyone sees Shaneil, police say he should not be approached but you should dial 999 immediately.

Andy Murray is through to the last 16 after win tonight at Wimbledon

Wimbledon champion Andy Murray's through to the last 16 after winning against Fabio Fognini on Centre Court.

It looked destined for five sets, with the Italian 5-2 up in the fourth.

But Murray fought back to win five straight games and seal his place in the next round by taking the fourth set 7-5.

The match finished 6-2 4-6 6-1 7-5. He’ll now face Frenchman Benoit Paire in the fourth round on Monday.

UPDATE: Police continue appeal to locate vulnerable man missing from Epsom


Police are continuing to appeal for information on the whereabouts of a vulnerable man missing from Epsom.

70 year-old James Middleton who has Parkinson’s and early stage dementia disappeared on Sunday after leaving his home around midday on his light blue scooter.

He’s white, 5ft 6, of large build with brown hair and was last seen wearing a body warmer, dark grey shorts and blue trainers.

It’s believed he was heading towards the stew ponds and Christ Church area of Epsom Common.

Nadal explains why he's enjoying the sun at Wimbledon

Rafa Nadal says the hot weather's helping him at this year's Wimbledon.

The two-time champion beat Karen Khachanov in straight sets on Centre Court to book his place in the last 16.

Nadal's greatest success has come at the French Open, which he's won on 10 occasions.

He says extra sunshine at the All England Club's made the ball bounce in a similarly high way.

Wimbledon champion Andy Murray's on Centre Court in the first set of his third-round match with Fabio Fognini.

They've followed Rafa Nadal onto the main stage at SW19, after he beat Karen Khachanov in straight sets.

British number one Johanna Konta's into the last 16, where France's 21st seed Caroline Garcia now awaits.

Konta made light work of Maria Sakkari on Number One Court.

Victory for Murray will make it two out of four for Britain today, after Heather Watson and Aljaz Bedene both lost.

High Court to hear fresh case of Charlie Gard's case

Great Ormond Street Hospital wants a fresh High Court hearing into the case of terminally-ill baby Charlie Gard.

It says it's had new evidence relating to potential treatment - after receiving letter which has been signed by several medical experts.

His parents, Connie Yates and Chris Gard want him to get experimental therapy in America.

Adele Robinson says previous British courts agreed the treatment wasn't in his interests.

Construction boss from Brentford is jailed.

A construction boss from Brentford has been jailed for 14 months and his company fined 1-point-2 million pounds after the deaths of two workmen.

22 year old Tomasz Procko and 29 year old Karol Symanski died while hauling a large sofa up over a balcony in 2014.

An Old Bailey jury found 44 year-old Martin Gutaj guilty of two charges of corporate manslaughter, and health and safety breaches.

Gutaj and his company Martinisation London Limited had previously found guilty.

Man Jailed at Kingston Crown Court.

A man has been jailed at Kingston Crown Court after pleading guilty to 24 counts of rape and sexual assault.

50 year old Glynn Ellison from Morden was sentenced to seventeen years imprisonment.

The offences took place between 2010 and 2011 and involved committing sexual acts while his victim was asleep or unconscious.

Ellison was originally arrested and charged in November 2016 but had maintained his innocence.

Cancer Research's Relay for Life is coming to Barn Elms Sports Trust in Richmond next weekend

Teams of 8 to 15 people will take part in a 24 hour relay to raise money for the charity.

There will also be a survivors’ Lap of Honour.

Commuters reminded to prepare for Waterloo disruption in August

Work will be taking place between the 5th and 28th of August.

Platforms 1-9 will be closed.

The advice, is not to travel at busy times of the day, although commuters have already branded this "ridiculous advice."

No trains will call at Earlsfield station on weekdays, in either direction, during the mornings and evenings.

Therefore, the station will be closed until 10.00 and again from 4.30pm to 7.30.

Trains will stop at Earlsfield in both directions between 10.00am and 4.30pm and after 7.30pm.

Fewer trains will call at Ashford and Ashtead.

No trains will operate between Chessington North / South and Malden Manor.

Should there be rules about players having tattoos at Wimbledon?

People flock to Wimbledon in their thousands for the tennis.

But it seems something else has got visitors all excited this year; the players’ tattoos.

Polona Hercog and Dustin Brown’s inkings have particularly caused a stir with some taking to social media to call for a ban.

Wimbledon has a very strict dress code for players, which stipulates white must be worn with no large brand logos.

But nothing is stated about tattoos.

Police in Croydon are appealing for witnesses after a woman was robbed of her necklace in South Norwood


The victim, a woman in her 40s, was walking along Selhurst New Road at around 1:30pm on Wednesday.

The male suspect attacked the woman, grabbing her necklace from her throat, before running off, fleeing the scene on a moped.

Nine Lions of Zululand were due at St Anne’s School in Brentford but ended up at school in Hull.

Rather than head four hours south, the South African troupe performed for free to 140 delighted kids with severe and complex needs.

The Fire Brigades’ Union claims another 7/7 attack would be hampered by funding cuts

Today marks 12 years since the atrocity which killed 52 people.

The Norbiton based union has produced a map detailing station closures and loss of fire engines compared to 2005.

Since 7/7, over 1,000 fire fighter jobs have been lost in the capital.

A 63-year-old woman was found suffering from head injuries.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Next of kin has been informed.

One of the victims, Kingston University student Philip Russell, has had a scholarship created in his name.

Former Surbiton High pupil Emily Jenkins was studying to be a midwife when she died.

Hounslow Council worker Ojara Ikeagwu was also killed in the atrocity.

A hospital in New York has offered to help terminally-ill baby Charlie Gard.

It says it will either ship an experimental treatment to London, or have Charlie taken to America, if "legal hurdles are cleared".

The 11-month-old's parents from Bedfont have lost several court cases, which have all ruled in favour of doctors who say treatment wouldn't help their son.

A House in Multiple Occupation exists when three or more unrelated people live in property and have to share a kitchen or bathroom.

The council says although HMOs offer affordable accommodation, there can be issues with over – crowding.

An online survey has been published on its website so people in HMOs can give their views on how they think they should operate.

The NSPCC is warning children in Surrey not to broadcast their location on Snapchat

Last month, the photo-sharing app released its new Maps feature enabling users to share their location with everyone in their contacts.

The new feature makes it possible to tell what part of a building a user is in.

The feature also displays if the user is travelling in a car or listening to music.

The NSPCC is urging young people to hide their location using the ‘ghost mode’ setting, and has issued advice to parents.

Surrey Communities Awarded £2.3m

Community groups and charities have secured almost £2.3m thanks to Surrey’s role in the Prudential RideLondon cycling festival.

67 organisations have been handed grants from the proceeds from the annual event since the first ride in 2013.

Grants have been awarded to projects that are aimed at getting more people participating in sport.

Two women have fainted watching a match at Wimbledon in the 31 degree heat.

Juan Martin Del Potro and Ernests Gulbis had to stop playing for 20 minutes on Court 3 while they were treated.

People on social media say Del Potro, who went on to win the match, passed a bottle of his water through the crowd to one of them.

Shops in Wimbledon Village are being given the chance to join Merton’s Business Relate Scheme for the first time ever.

Certain small businesses are eligible for the council discount depending on the rateable value of their property.

But it emerged in April that businesses in Wimbledon Village had never been offered the chance to join the scheme.

Council Leader Stephen Alambritis apologised for this, and denied claims it was because the Village is seen as “too lucrative.”

More tests are to be carried out urgently on building cladding and insulation following the Grenfell Tower blaze.

The government is widening its investigation, and will now look at how different types of panels react to fire.

190 samples of cladding from blocks across the country, which are similar to that involved in the Grenfell disaster in North Kensington, have already failed safety tests.

A woman from Bedfont has been convicted of perjury and perverting the course of justice.



25 year old Jemma Beale made a series of false rape and sexual assault allegations to police over a three-year period.

Detectives launched an investigation into her in December 2013 after they learned of a claim by one of her former girlfriends.

The girlfriend claimed a man had been wrongly jailed after Beale had lied that she’d been raped by him in November 2010.

She’ll be sentenced in August.

Kyle Edmund held his own for quite a while against Gael Monfils on Centre Court, but lost in straight sets 7-6, 6-4, 6-4.

The British number two was 3-love up at one point in the final set, but let that slip to the 15th seed.

A new app aimed at engaging Surrey residents with wildlife and conservation has been launched.

People’s Trust for endangered Species, created the software programme as part of their yearly Mammals on Roads Survey.

Volunteers across Surrey are being urged to record sightings of animals, dead or alive, whilst on car journeys.

This will allow conservationists to see any population changes that require action.

The world tennis number four made light work of Czech Adam Pavlasek, winning 6-2, 6-2, 6-1.

The show's former judge Arlene Phillips has arranged the Gala For Grenfell, which is taking place in London at the end of the month.

A man has turned up at hospital with life threatening stab injuries.

The man in his 20s attended a Surrey hospital with a number of stab wounds around midnight last night.

However, officers were unable to gauge any more information from the victim, like where the stabbing took place.

Two men and one woman have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, they remain in police custody.

Police appealed for assistance to help trace 81 year-old Olusegun Okuleye reported missing from Clapham Common on Tuesday.

A second man will appear in court later, charged with the murder of a 20 year-old man at Cobham Services.

Quhey Saunders, died after suffering serious head injuries following an altercation at the petrol station last month.

21 year-old, Mikey Joseph Coyle, from Barnes, was charged earlier this morning.

Police are no longer looking for anyone else in connection with the murder.

It's reported Everton have accepted an offer of £75-million from Manchester United for Romelu Lukaku.

The striker had been heavily linked with a return to his former club Chelsea this summer.

It’s not just play at Wimbledon catching people’s attention this year but, what’s been dubbed as “towel gate” has cause quite a stir.

After his first round win, Jack Sock, threw his towel to a young fan in the crowd, who caught it.

But, an older man snatched it and the pair began a tug of war which the youngster lost.

After a social media hunt the young fan has been tracked down by the American player who’s offered him tickets and another towel.

A massive 71% of votes at the general election were cast for MPs who are anti - Heathrow expansion

Research by the coalition group “No 3rd Runway” has found when people went to the polls on June the 8th, they had the airport in mind.

Out of those votes cast, 68% were for Conservative candidates like Zac Goldsmith, who is staunchly anti - expansion.

65% went to Labour candidates like Tooting’s Rosena Allin-Khan, who favours Gatwick.

A primary school in Croydon was placed on lockdown while police searched for a man wielding a machete nearby

Children at Wolsey Junior Academy were forced to remain inside, as officers checked the surrounding area at around 10 past 4 yesterday afternoon.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of affray, criminal damage and possession of cannabis.

Police have arrested a second man in connection with the Cobham services murder

This is the second arrest as part of this investigation.

Earlier today the inquest into the death of 20-year-old Hughie Saunders from Essex was opened at the Surrey Coroner’s Court, and then suspended.

Officers are still keen to speak to every witness that was in the petrol station between 3 and 3.30pm on the 26th of June

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Sunbury this morning involving a pedestrian and a blue Honda Civic

The incident happened on Staines Road West close to the Premiere Inn.

The pedestrian, a woman in her forties, has been taken to St Georges Hospital with serious injuries.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision and in particular to the driver of a white van who was at the scene.

Cobham Services murder update: man appears in court

A man has appeared at the Old Bailey charged with murder in connection with the death of a man at Cobham Services on the M25.

20 year old Hughie Saunders from Essex suffered serious head injuries after being attacked at the petrol station.

He died in hospital two days later.

22 year old Simon Baker from Outwood near Redhill has been remanded in custody.

He’s next due in court on the 13th November.

It’s because Crystal Palace are using it to prepare the playing surface for the Premier League season which kicks off in August.

Parents of the terminally-ill boy, who's being treated in London, have lost legal challenges to transfer him to the US for experimental treatment.

It’s after Pro-veganism charity, PETA, sent two bikini-clad women to serve dairy free cream and strawberries to people queueing yesterday.

Although the sweet treat’s a tradition at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon says the daring move broke marketing rules.

The act didn’t go down too well on Twitter after floods of criticism but, the charity’s’ defended its stunt.

The streets of Nine Elms are to be regenerated

Plans have been unveiled by Transport for London that will support more walking and cycling.

The transport company operator wants to completely re-design the 2.5km stretch from Nine Elms Lane to Battersea Park Road.

Officers have made a further arrest for the murder of Tino Makwanya in Croydon

Officers investigating the murder of Tino Makwanya in Croydon have made a further arrest.

A 22 year old man was arrested earlier today on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and remains in custody.

Two others have already been charged, 41 year old Stephen Weatherley from Thornton Heath and 26 year old Mahad Ibrahim from Croydon.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder last Tuesday, but has been released under investigation.

A man who was arrested at Heathrow has been charged with eight offences under the Terrorism Act

A man has been charged with 8 offences under the Terrorism Act.

51 year old Tadesse Kersmo was arrested at Heathrow Airport in January.

He’s also been charged with one count of attendance at a place used for terrorist training.

He will appear in custody tomorrow at Westminster Magistrates' Court.

Croydon grime artists Stormzy has tweeted to say "Long live Linkin Park".

It’s after he appeared on stage with the nu-metal group at their gig in London last night.

Missing man from Streatham



47 year old Jason Noble was last seen just before 9am yesterday in the area of Streatham High Road.

He is described as around 5ft 11, with dark skin and a shaved head and was last seen wearing a red and blue rugby shirt and grey jogging bottoms.

Anyone who has any information is asked to contact the Missing Persons Unit at Brixton.

An attack in Stanwell has left a 15 year old girl with serious injuries

A 15-year-old girl is in hospital with serious injuries following an attack in Stanwell.

It happened at 8pm on Sunday the 25th of June in Long Lane Park.

The teenager was thrown to the ground and assaulted by a group of people at the Cambria Gardens entrance.

Officers have arrested 5 teenagers in the Feltham and West Drayton areas in connection with a stabbing at a Heathrow airport bus stop.

The victim, a 20-year-old man, was taken to hospital with a stab wound and subsequently discharged two weeks ago.

The teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery and GBH and currently remain in police custody.

Police are still appealing for witnesses.

A man’s fighting for his life in hospital after being stabbed in Streatham.

It’s believed he was knifed after violence erupted between a group men on Madeira Road yesterday.

Police are questioning ten people in connection with the attack.

Residents claimed the victim, whose age is currently unknown, is the second person to be stabbed in the area in recent weeks.

Boy kept in solitary confinement at Feltham Young Offenders Institution wins court ruling

A 16 year old, kept in solitary confinement for almost 24 hours a day, for four and a half months, has won a legal battle over his human rights.

The High Court's ruled the Feltham Young Offenders Institution breached his right to mix with others.

The teenager's described as having "significant" mental health problems and can't be named for legal reasons.

Last week, a report blasted Feltham Prison for a number of staffing and safety issues.

Police are hunting for two conmen in Leatherhead after they stole cash from an elderly woman

They approached the victim’s house on Upper Fairfield Road telling her they urgently needed to turn the water off to prevent a leak.

While one man was distracting her in the kitchen, the other went upstairs and stole a quantity of money on Friday.

A teenager from Hounslow has been jailed for life

A teenager who plotted to bomb an Elton John concert in London on last year's anniversary of the 9/11 attacks has been jailed for life.

Haroon Syed from Hounslow admitted preparing for terrorist acts between April and September 2016.

He was caught online by officers from the British Security Service who pretended to be another extremist.

The 19-year-old will serve at least 16-and-a-half years.

President Trump says he'd be happy to help Charlie Gard

President Trump's tweeted that the US would be 'delighted' to help terminally ill baby Charlie Gard.

The 10 month-old baby from Bedfont is due to have his life support machine turned off.

It’s after his parents exhausted their legal options last week, with European judges ruling he should be allowed to die.

They had wanted to take him to the US for treatment.

Meanwhile, the Pope has offered baby Charlie treatment at his own private hospital, the Vatican's children's hospital in Rome.

Kingston Police officer taken off duties for "stealing a biscuit."

A Police officer based at Kingston has been on restricted duties for a year . . . for eating a colleague’s biscuit without permission.

An internal report was carried out by the Met, but the incident “escalated” and was handed over.

The Department of Professional Standards has been carrying out the investigation.

A spokesman for the Met police told us the incident was reported in June last year and the investigation is nearly over.

The sister of one of the teenagers mown down by a driver in Croydon has expressed her shock.

A 16 year-old girl died and six others sustained injuries following the hit and run on Pixton Way, in the early hours of yesterday.

She’s told the Evening Standard “I’m still trying to stomach the fact someone hit my little sister.”

It’s also believed the victim went to St Philomena’s Catholic High School for Girls in Carshalton.

A 22 year-old man will appear in court later charged with the murder.

Simon Daniel Baker from Redhill, is accused of killing Quhey Saunders following a vicious attack at Cobham Services a week ago this afternoon.

The 20 year-old victim sustained serious head injuries after two groups clashed.

Detectives say they are still hunting for a second suspect.

Approximately half of a loft conversion of a semi-detached house in Luttrell Avenue was damaged by the blaze.

Campaigners trying to get “justice for Zane Gbangbola” marched on London on Saturday.



The 7 year old died when floodwater entered his house in Chertsey in 2014.

It was ruled that he died after a pump being used to divert water away from the house emitted carbon monoxide, which poisoned him.

His parents claim the water was contaminated by gases from a nearby landfill site; something that’s denied by the authorities.

The Open Spaces Society has launched a scathing attack on Lambeth Council over plans to allow more festivals on Clapham Common.

It says by giving permission for such events, it is “driving a coach and horses through legislation designed to protect commons.”

Hundreds of people complained last year following a number of noisy music events held on the open land.

The Town and Country Planning Act allows the temporary use of land for up to 28 days in total in any calendar year.

Lambeth is looking to allow a 110-day schedule of events.

A piece of artwork created by Carshalton College students and featuring a number of famous faces has been installed on Tim’s Cafe.

Each student was given a section of the wall to design over the course of several weeks; the whole thing took around 150 hours to complete.

An elderly man has died following a collision with a double decker bus in Sunbury.

It comes after an accident involving a pedestrian at the corner of Green Street and Thames Street on Thursday afternoon.

Police are still appealing for witnesses, specifically for anyone who was in two white vehicles ahead of the bus.

One of the cars was an Audi and the other was an SUV.

Elderly man missing from Epsom



Police are appealing for help in tracing an elderly man missing from Epsom.

Seventy-year-old James Middleton, known as Jim, was last seen at 12pm yesterday as he went out on his mobility scooter heading towards the Stew Ponds and Christ Church area.

He hasn’t been seen since.

James is white, 5 foot 6, and of a large build with brown greying hair.

His scooter is light blue in colour.

Pope Francis has said the parents of terminally-ill baby Charlie Gard should be allowed to "accompany and treat their child until the end".

Chris Gard and Connie Yates from Bedfont are spending their final days with him after losing a legal battle to take him to the US for experimental treatment.

The Pontiff said he was following Charlie's case with ''affection and sadness''.

A West London film-maker has made a feature film starring a Hollywood actor from the series ‘24’.

Claude Green co-wrote The Doo Dah Man based on his writing partner’s extraordinary experience of a conman in America many years ago.

It’s already on show in America on Amazon Prime and a distribution deal is being looked at over here.

The director says fans of the actor Glen Morshower would enjoy the performance:

Illegal sub-letters in Grenfell Tower in North Kensington won't be prosecuted

There's an amnesty for illegal sub-letters in the Grenfell Tower, they won't be prosecuted if they help identify victims.

Police are urging people to come forward about who was in the building at the time of the fire in North Kensington.

The government's also given an update on the number of high rise buildings with cladding to have failed fire safety tests.

Adele Robinson says that number is now 181 buildings, in 51 local authority areas.

Weather could be hit and miss for the first week of Wimbledon

Wimbledon is set for a grey start and thundery showers tomorrow which could affect play in the early stages of the tournament.

Spectators will enjoy temperatures up to 24 degrees Celsius though, with chance of a few hours of rain in the afternoon.

Thursday is expected to be the worst day weather wise in the first week of Wimbledon, but the sun should return on Friday.

A 16 year old girl died in the accident in Croydon.

Six other teenagers were injured and were taken to London hospitals for treatment.

Police investigation in Cobham

Police investigating a murder at the Cobham Services say a man in his 20s has been arrested.

The victim, Quhey Saunders died after being viciously assaulted in broad daylight on Monday afternoon, just after 3 o’clock.

It happened when a fight broke out between two groups in the service station forecourt.

Officers are still looking for a second suspect in connection with the incident and urge witnesses to come forward.

Collision in Croydon leads to the death of a 16 year old girl

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision in Croydon.

Officers were called to Pixton Way at around 1.24am to reports a red Audi A3 convertible collided with seven pedestrians.

Emergency services attended to the injured, one of those a 16 year old girl died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a man fled on foot and police are trying to trace him.

University of Surrey to host World's first 5G Digital Gaming Initiative

The University of Surrey will host the world’s first 5G Digital Gaming Initiative starting tomorrow.

It’s thanks to a £1.7 million investment from the Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership.

The initiative follows the creation of the world’s largest Open Innovation 5G Test Bed at the university, based in Guildford.

Writer's journals have been donated to Kingston Uni.

Iris Murdoch fans finally have an opportunity to read 15 volumes of the writer's private journals.

It’s after they were donated to Kingston Uni.

They cover the period of her life from 1939 to 1996.

Murdoch was best known for her novels about good and evil, sexual relationships, morality, and the power of the unconscious.

Wandsworth is a 20mph borough.

Wandsworth is officially now a 20mph borough.

The lower limit now applies in all of the area’s quieter residential backstreets and neighbourhoods.

It’s designed to make roads safer and also encourage other forms of sustainable transport like cycling and walking.

Accidents between pedestrians and vehicles are three times less likely to be fatal if the speed of the impact is 20mph compared to 30mph.

MP for Runnymede and Weybridge is under pressure from Cabinet

The MP for Runnymede and Weybridge and chancellor Phillip Hammond is facing pressure from Cabinet ministers to ease up on austerity.

It's reported some think issues - including public sector pay and university tuition fees in England should be looked at.

It comes after the Conservatives lost its majority in the general election.

Political Correspondent Lewis Goodall says the party's facing an identity crisis.

Government will keep 'close eye' on Kensington and Chelsea Council after fire

Communities secretary Sajid Javid has said that the government will keep a ‘close eye’ on Kensington and Chelsea Council.

It’s after both the council leader and deputy resigned after coming under intense pressure in the wake of the Grenfell Tower fire.

Residents and victims have criticised the Council’s handling of the tragedy, which left atleast 80 people dead.

The Mayor of London has called for commissioners to be drafted in to take over the day-day running of the council.

The 'big four' in men's tennis dominate Wimbledon

Rafael Nadal says he's not sure why the so-called "big four" of men's tennis have dominated Wimbledon in the past 15 years.

Only himself, Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic have won the men's singles title since 2003.

Retired Australian Lleyton Hewitt was the last to claim it outside of those four.

Nadal says it can't go on forever.

Motorcyclist in his 50s dies in crash in Battersea

A motorcyclist has died following a crash in Battersea yesterday morning.

Police and paramedics rushed to Nine Elms Lane after reports of a collision, however the rider in his 50s was pronounced dead shortly after 10am.

A police cordon was put in place on the road near to Vauxhall station while detectives carried out investigations.

It’s believed that no other vehicles were involved.
