This year’s Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 will feature a trio of TV presenters who are more used to announcing the news than making it

The BBC Breakfast duo of Louise Minchin and Naga Munchetty and Sky News’s Dermot Murnaghan are three of the best-known presenters in the country.

But the trio will swap the TV studios for the open roads next weekend when they take on the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100.

Among the other famous faces taking part in the sportive are Sophie Faldo, who won last year’s Great British Bake Off, pop singer Lemar, who appeared in Dancing on Ice this year, and former EastEnders actor Sam Attwater.

Sports stars riding the mass participation event include rugby union World Cup-winning captain Martin Johnson and his former England team-mate Rory Underwood, and Olympic gold medal-winning 400m hurdler Sally Gunnell.

The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 will see 25,000 amateur cyclists start at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, ride through London and out to the Surrey Hills of Leith Hill and Box Hill before coming back into London and an iconic finish on The Mall.
