Preparations have started for this year's Holocaust Memorial Day

Holocaust Memorial Day, on Sunday the 27th of January, reminds people of the atrocities of the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, and the genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

The theme this year is ‘Torn From Home’ which is an evocative description of what happened to so many at that time.

Bronia Snow, now aged 91, then aged 11, came over on Kindertransport from Prague and describes what it meant to her, and what her message is for future generations.

Workshops with schoolchildren relating to HMD will be held from the 21st to the 29th of January at both the Kingston and Surbiton Orthodox and Kingston Liberal Synagogues.

Here, Bronia relives her story to Jackie's Simone Halfin.
