A new drug is going to be tested on Covid-19 patients at Ashford and St Peters Hospital.

It’s a £1.5m trial of Leflunomide, which is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis.

A test in Wuhan found it helped people recover quicker.

The hospital’s Medical Director, Dr David Fluck, says the pandemic has put “immense pressure” on those looking for treatments, and he’s “immensely proud” of his team.
