Merton Council is planting 10,000 new trees in the borough to help reduce the effects of climate change.

The year-long campaign which starts from March, aims to increase tree canopy by 10% by 2050.

It’s hoped that the new tree plan strategy will help make the borough greener, cleaner, more resilient and a welcoming place to live.

The over £75,000 worth of external investment will ensure that trees in the area are well-established, protected and continue to grow.
