Holly Willoughby sparkles during a visit to Shooting Star in Hampton

Holly Willoughby has visited The Shooting Star Children’s Hospice, Shooting Star House.

The television presenter is a long standing patron of Children’s Hospices UK, the national charity which gives voice to the UK’s network of 45 children’s hospice services. Shooting Star House is Holly’s local hospice, and her visit was met with smiles and excitement from some of Shooting Star's children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families. During the visit Holly took part in activities with the children including story-telling and painting, and even attended a music therapy session.

Barbara Gelb, Chief Executive of Children's Hospices UK said: ‘We're thrilled to have the support of Holly as one of our patrons at Children's Hospices UK. Visits to local children’s hospices such as Shooting Star make such a difference to the children and families.  Holly’s ongoing support helps us to increase awareness of the much needed, unique that children's hospice services give to thousands of children, young people and their families every year.’
Holly Willoughby said: ‘Whenever I visit children’s hospices, like this one, I am amazed by the positive, welcoming environment and support they provide.  It is clear to see that these places are a lifeline to the families that use them.  I am very proud to be a patron of Children’s Hospices UK.’

Brian Stewart, Shooting Star's interim Chief Executive said: ‘We were thrilled to welcome Holly to Shooting Star. It was a really special day for the children, their families and staff. We know it has created a really wonderful memory for everyone.'
