A former bank employee from Balham has been handed a suspended jail term after taking bribes in the form of cash and gifts

Ayman Touhami then used them to set up fake bank accounts for a criminal group running a sophisticated ‘smishing’ scam.

The 25 year old, who pleaded guilty to bribery, has also been ordered to carry out 200 hours of community work.

His 18 month sentence has been suspended for 18 months.
