Children’s services in Surrey are on a “significant improvement journey”.

OFSTED have been looking into how the County Council fared during the pandemic, and have largely praised their efforts.

However, the regulator says some children enter care in an emergency, rather than a planned way, despite the council’s efforts.

In 2018 the children’s services were rated as inadequate, and have been inspected regularly since then.
