Rescuers have managed to free a small whale which became stranded along the River Thames at Richmond Lock

It was being towed along the water this morning - and managed to swim away.

We’re being told to keep an eye out for it though, as it’s unknown where it is and it may be underweight.

Julia Cable, national coordinator at the British Divers Marine Life Rescue, had this to say about the whale’s condition during the rescue.
