At around 5.30 on Monday evening, a 60-year-old jogger is believed to have “kicked the cygnit out the way instead of going around”.
The bird is currently being looked after by The Swan Sanctuary in Shepperton, but “he’s still desperately poorly”.
Many people on social media wrote expletives about the culprit.
