A not-for-profit organisation in Surrey has secured almost twenty thousand pounds to help people most under threat from coronavirus stay fit and healthy

Active Surrey has managed to get the funding from Sport England for a range of projects focussing on groups who do less physical activity.

Some of these include guided walks for dementia sufferers in Elmbridge and outdoor fitness training for young refugees and unaccompanied asylum seekers.

Head of Strategic relationships at the Woking-based organisation said, "Coronavirus is having a greater negative impact on some groups over others. That is why we are pleased to offer this support."
