Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a flat on Benbow Road in Hammersmith this afternoon.

Part of a three-roomed flat on the lower ground floor of the building was damaged by fire. The Brigade was called at just after 2:10pm and the fire was under control in under half an hour.

One man left the building before the brigade arrived. He was treated on the scene by London Ambulance Service crews.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
