Kingston University and Kingston Hospital are working together to study Human Papillomaviruses’ effect on cancers.

Human Papillomaviruses are a group of common, sexually transmitted viruses which can cause warts and in some cases cancer.

It’s hoped the project will help us understand the connection between HPV and upper gastrointestinal cancers, helping detect them earlier through screening and vaccination.

The research is being partly funded by the Laurie Todd Foundation, established by Maundy Todd in memory of her late husband.
