Police are appealing for witnesses in Dorking after a group of youths caused a disturbance at Lower Box Farm yesterday afternoon.

A large group of teenagers were seen swimming in the lake near to the farm and a group of three boys then climbed into an adjacent field to chase a herd of cows.

This caused upset to the animals and resulted in one of them suffering a large deep wound to its side.

Surrey Police believe the group visit the area regularly and patrols will be increased to dissuade any anti-social behaviour.

They are also reminding residents that chasing or threatening live animals is not only harmful to the animal but could result in potential injury to the person.

Anyone with any information is urged to call 101.
