Richmond Council is addressing a number of issues after an independent audit found flaws in its support for SEND children
It’s after the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman investigated three complaints from families earlier this year.
An urgent action plan has been put in place by the council to address the findings and make improvements.
These include increased staffing, improved training, better communication and its own in-house peer review.
The council says “Providing high quality special educational needs and disability services and appropriate support for the children and families who need them is a number one priority for Richmond Council and Achieving for Children”
