Roadside hedges take a hit to their health while protecting humans from air pollution


That’s according to a new study from the University of Surrey, which looked at leaves in Guildford.

They found that the traffic side takes a “continuous assault” as it shields humans from toxic particles.

Professor Prashant Kumar is advocating for the use of hedges as a barrier around schools and children’s play areas.
