Some of the capital’s biggest known drugs offenders are behind bars thanks to the work of a team dedicated to tackling the crime

The Drugs Focus Desk has helped ensure more dealers are charged and sentenced for supply, rather than simple drugs possession.

It was set up in West Area Basic Command Unit, which covers areas including Hounslow and Brentford, in November 2019.

Drug activity is known to be a key driver of violence.
