Surrey Police have been referred to the watchdog, after a baton round was used to restrain a man in Ewell

The force arrested two men on suspicion of racially aggravated threatening behaviour.

One was taken to hospital with bruising on his stomach.

While the injury doesn’t meet the conditions for mandatory referral, they voluntarily submitted themselves in the interests of transparency.
