The leader of Spelthorne Council says he felt “hounded” out of his position because of bullying.

Ian Harvey was one of 6 councillors to resign earlier this week, meaning the Conservatives have lost their majority.

The authority is now under “no overall control” for the first time in its 45 year history.

Cllr Harvey explains why he felt he had to leave.

The remaining Tories say they do not recognise Mr Harvey’s claims.

The Lib Dems, now the main opposition party, say they are looking to ensure stability and an optimistic outcome that puts residents first.

Cllr Sandra Dunn has been speaking to Jackie's Luke Williams.
