A Dunkirk Little Ship is to be restored in Chertsey, after being sold for £40,000 by a museum in Kent

Isle of Thanet News reports that The Sundowner will be worked on for two years at Dennett’s Boat Builders.

It will then go to its new private owner.

The ship was captained by Charles Lightroller, the former Second Officer of the Titanic.

He sailed it across the channel himself, refusing to let the Navy take it, and rescued 130 men.
