60-year-old Ralph Carter was found guilty of the manslaughter of 52-year-old Glen Hopgood in January.
Surrey Police said Carter acted in self-defence after Mr Hopgood attacked him.
Carter has been jailed for nine years following a trial at Isleworth Crown Court.
