A South-West London police officer who was due to receive a commendation has been dismissed, after being in a relationship with a drug dealer

584 pages of downloads of Kate Blackett’s phone confirmed that she was aware he sold drugs, and she had given him money to buy them.

She didn’t declare her relationship with him until he was arrested and she was asked to make a statement.

Police say that “it would send entirely the wrong message to the public” if she was allowed to keep serving.
