Croydon is leading the way with School Streets, after ten more have been introduced in the borough.

School Streets ban all but essential traffic outside school gates at the start and end of the day.

There will be exemption permits for residents, school staff and public transport.

Any drivers caught breaking the rules will face fines of up to 130 pounds; the measures will be reviewed after six months.
