Horses are affected by heat more than humans, according to a new study from the University of Roehampton.

Researchers held Man vs Horse events, which in total involved 260 humans and 358 horses in 19 mile races.

They found for every one degree increase in temperature, the speed of the horses decreased more than the humans.

They say humans sweat more readily, while horses are bigger and don’t dump heat as effectively.
