It’s emerged that Sutton Council has not been told if it is entitled to any of Boris Johnson’s new £1 billion schools funding

The revelation came at last night’s council meeting following a question from a Lib Dem councillor for Beddington South ward.

It’s was also pointed out at the meeting, that if schools are eligible for any funding, they will have to wait until September 2021 to receive it.

Lib Dem councillor Jenny Batt, Sutton Council’s lead on schools, has demanded urgent clarity from ministers.
