Kew Gardens saw its visitors increase by a quarter last year.

The Association of Leading Visitor Attractions says that was mainly due to a six-month exhibition by glass artist Dale Chihuly.

RHS Wisley saw a 15% increase, which the AVLA puts down to a new welcome building, plant centre and restaurant.

However, the attractions are now open with a reduced capacity, and visitors must book their slot in advance.
