The wife of MP Sir Ed Davey is the council cabinet member for Housing and Public Health.
The portfolio holders for the year ahead were announced at a council meeting last night.
Caroline Kerr will remain as leader, with Tim Cobbett taking over as deputy from Malcolm Self, who stood down from the position.
