There are plans for a temporary “bus gate”, that would mean cars aren’t allowed to drive through the high street.
It’s due to be in place for three months, to reduce traffic and allow greater social distancing on the narrow pavements in the area.
The petition highlights concerns about rat-running on residential streets.
