The MP for Richmond Park has presented an “Early Day Motion” to save free and discounted travel for young people in London.

MPs are using the petition to lobby the government to keep the Zip Oyster card scheme which launched in 2005.

Sarah Olney is one of 16 MPs questioning why the Department of Transport is demanding TfL discontinues the scheme.

The campaign #DontZapTheZip claims the Zip Oyster is a “lifeline” and removal would impact disproportionally on poorer Londoners.
