Traffic trials are to be launched in Richmond and Bushy Park later this year

Both parks have been temporarily fully or partially closed to motor vehicles since the end of March due to Covid-19.

Richmond Council says the aim of the six-month long trials is to try to prevent the open spaces being used as cut-throughs.

However, the final decision will rely on many factors.

One of the factors will be if the reduction in vehicle flow through the parks means a build-up of congestion on the surrounding roads.
