A new X-Ray scanner at Wandsworth prison has found four mobile phones and several sim cards during its first day

A report previously highlighted the lack of sniffer dogs and a flow of drugs in the jail.

It’s hoped the scanner will reduce drug use and make it more difficult for prisoners to talk with other criminals on the outside.

There are around 1,500 inmates inside the 19th century building.
