Emergency grants have been given to 135 small music venues in England to help them reopen after lockdown.

They're getting up to 80-thousand pounds each as part of the Culture Recovery Fund.

The Sound Lounge in Sutton is one of the only venues in the country that has been able to put on a music event, but were crushed by the no-shows who took vital spaces.

Speaking about the grant, founder Hannah White said, “We have been given a window of 11 days to map out the business and the effects that the outbreak has had on its viability.”
