Highways England says it cares about the environment and protecting the special habitats around Wisley.

It’s after RHS Wisley said it has a “final chance” to save heritage trees from new development plans.

Highways England is planning to upgrade the A3/M25 interchange with an enlarged roundabout to ease congestion.

The Gardens say this could put more than 40 trees at risk of being severely weakened, and 17 listed trees would be cut down.

It is one of the busiest motorway junctions in the country, and upgrading it will improve people's journeys and make both roads safer.
