HMP Wandsworth has the highest number of prisoners sharing cells in the country


75% of its population were sharing cells in May; over 1,100 people.

The figures follow a question to the government by Twickenham Lib Dem MP Munira Wilson.

The government says all prisoners suitability to share a cell is risk assessed.

It also says that they’re isolating the symptomatic and quarantining new arrivals.
