A young child was injured after being struck by a van in Poplar Grove but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver failed to stop following the incident, and shortly afterwards a van was found abandoned nearby.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
