Police are denying accusations of racism, after a black police officer was pulled over in Croydon

On the 23rd of May, Inspector Charles Ehikioya was stopped, who’s later claimed it was due to racial profiling.

A review found he’d been followed by police prior to the stop on suspicion of excessive speed at a traffic signal.

No action was taken against him.

Commander Alison Heydari “I cannot say how strongly enough how wholly unfair the accusations are based upon the evidence and the review”.

The inspector intends to sue the Met Police.
