Record numbers show interest in University of West London Clearing
Clearing lines are busier than ever at the University of West London (UWL) as thousands of students look to secure their futures and find the right courses across Ealing and Reading following a summer of Covid-19 disruption.
With the impact of lockdown on the jobs market and A-Level results, more people than ever are now looking to find a university place in Clearing and begin building rewarding careers and UWL has seen a surge in interest on the first morning as expert advisors continue to offer advice and support.
Professor Anthony Woodman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at UWL, said: “We have seen a great deal of uncertainty over exam results and a big growth in the number of people looking to return to education this summer. This combination is having a big impact on the number and nature of the calls we are receiving on the first day of Clearing.
“People are incredibly worried about securing a place at university that will give them the skills they need to build a career, and we understand that.
“Our students are at the heart of everything we do, and this is no exception, so we are working hard to reassure all those getting in touch that we will be matching them with the right courses based on not just their grades, but their experience, skills and career aspirations.
“The National Student Survey has shown that we are delivering a great student experience in everything from teaching and learning to facilities and learning support. At UWL we put students at the heart of everything we do and that starts from now, right the way through their courses.”
