Sutton Council says it is listening to parents’ concerns about traffic.

The authority says it’s been told there is too much on the roads for mums and dads to allow their children to walk or cycle to school.

In response, Sutton is rolling out 14 more “School Streets” from next month.

A ‘School Street’ is a road outside or around a school with temporary traffic restrictions at school drop-off and pick-up times only.

A major world study last year revealed children are five times more exposed to air pollution when travelling to primary schools.
