The immigration minister is meeting his French counterpart today to discuss the growing number of migrants risking their lives to get to the UK in small boats


Between Thursday and Sunday, almost 700 people made the perilous journey.

Health minister Edward Argar says the prime minister's keen to change the "legal framework" of those who enter the country via that route.

It’s been reported that France could be added to the quarantine list, but immigration minister Chris Philp, who's also the MP for Croydon South, won’t need to self-isolate for 14 days under the current rules.
