Wandsworth Council is to start inspecting residents’ front gardens to make sure they aren’t posing a Coronavirus risk

The authority says households which allow greenery to encroach onto pavements make it more difficult for pedestrians to social distance.

People are being asked to to prune and cut back any overhanging vegetation.

Inspectors will write to homeowners, and if the work isn’t carried out within a reasonable time, the authority will do it and bill the owner.
